Raiders set for 2024 Horizon League Cross Country Championships

DAYTON — The Wright State men's and women's cross country programs will compete in the 2024 Horizon League Championship on Saturday, November 2, at the Shorewood Cross Country Course in Green Bay.
The women's 6,000-meter race will commence at 12 p.m. ET followed by the men's 8,000-meter run at 1 p.m. ET. The award ceremony will begin shortly after the conclusion of the men's race. Tickets for the championship event are free, however parking is $10 in the Weidner Center lot adjacent to the course.

Hosts of the 2023 Horizon League Championship, the Wright State women turned in a seventh-place finish last season with the Raider men finishing ninth.
Former Raider Kaitlyn Miller earned All-League First Team honors on the women's side, as she captured sixth place, while on the men's side, Alex McCarty received All-League First Team honors for his seventh-place finish.
LAST TIME OUT
Wright State completed its final tune-ups last Friday night by hosting the Wild Bill Invite at Fairborn Community Park. The Wright State women finished first among four teams, while the Raider men were second in their five-team field. The women's 6,000-meter race was led by Emma Johnson in second place with a time of 21:55.0. She was followed by Samantha Seas in 10th (23:39.1), Brooklyn Salyers in 19th (24:58.4), Katelyn Seas in 21st (25:07.4), and Reece Barnitz in 22nd (25:09.4).Â
Bryce Page was Wright State's top finisher in the men's 8,000-meter race, as he took 11th overall with a time of 26:26.7. Nathan Sheriff (17th, 26:48.5), Matthew Lee (29th, 27:46.3), Logan Eggert (34th, 28:01.6) and Alex Combs (46th, 29:44.4) rounded out Raider men in the 8K.Â
Johnson was named the Horizon League's Women's Runner of the Week on Tuesday, with Seas named the HL Women's Freshman of the Week.

Following the Horizon League Championships, the Raiders will compete at the Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday, November 15, in Norton, Ohio, at the Silver Creek Metro Park. The top two teams from each regional will automatically advance to the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
