Cross Country set for NCAA Great Lakes Regional

DAYTON — The Wright State men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, November 15, at the Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio.Â
The women's team will take part in the 6,000-meter run at 11:00 a.m., with Reece Barnitz, Shelby Hept, Anna Johnson, Carolyn Johnson, Emma Johnson, Elle Lambert, Alexa Magoteaux and Samantha Seas running for Wright State. The Raider men will follow in the 10,000-meter run at 12:00 p.m. Competing in the men's race are Andrew Bugner, Michael Gale, Preston Jackson, Evan McPherson, Ethan Neblock, Blake Rodgers, Patrick Statzer, and Kalib Tolle.

Wright State last competed in the 2024 Horizon League Championship two weekends ago. the Wright State men team turned in an eighth-place overall finish and the Raider women were 11th in the championship.Emma Johnson turned in a time of 22:07.5 on the way to her 12th-place finish, just a minute off the top times and within five seconds of a top 10 finish. Patrick Statzer led the Raiders in the men's 8K race, finishing 27th with a time of 25:43.6.
Founded in 1921, Summit Metro Parks is the second oldest park district in Ohio. The park consists of 15,000 acres throughout 16 parks, including 22 miles of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Annual attendance averages 5 million visits.
