Four in double figures as Raiders roll to Saturday win

DAYTON – The Wright State men's basketball team shot 68 percent in the second half and saw four players reach double digits in the scoring column as the Raiders rolled 92-56 past Central State on Saturday night inside the Nutter Center.
 
Wright State (3-2) now gets set to head south for three games next week at the Myrtle Beach Invitational, tipping off action in South Carolina on Thursday night with an 8 p.m. tipoff against Princeton. The Raiders will then play on Friday night and Sunday at a time to be determined.
 
Saturday night, Wright State tallied 13 of the first 15 second half points over a two-plus minute stretch out of the locker room and never looked back, breaking open what had been a back-and-forth first half that saw the Raiders leading 39-32 at the break. Central State (1-2) connected on 48 percent of its first half shots before Wright State clamped down in the second 20 minutes, holding the visitors to just seven second half field goals and a 25 percent second half shooting mark. Wright State, who shot 40 percent in the opening 20 minutes, hit its first five second half shots on the way to the 68 percent second half shooting mark.
 
Brandon Noel led all scorers with his 19 points, tallying 14 of those in the first half, adding seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal in just 24 minutes of action, while Michael Imariagbe pulled down seven rebounds of his own to go along with 15 points, two assists and a pair of steals. Logan Woods finished with a career-high 14 points, connecting on a trio of three-pointers, while Alex Huibregtse had 14 points of his own to go along wit five assists and four rebounds.
 
Drey Carter just missed the double-digit scoring fun, finishing with a season-best nine points off the bench, with Jack Doumbia chipping in eight points and Andrew Welage adding six points thanks to a pair of triples from deep.
 
The Raiders finished the win shooting 52 percent overall (36-of-69) and were 36 percent from three-point range (10-of-28), connecting on six in the second half. Central State ended up with a 36 percent overall shooting (20-of-55) mark with a 36 percent mark of its own from deep (5-of-14). Wright State led the rebounding battler 42-35 and passed out 24 assists on its 36 made baskets while forcing Central State into 17 turnovers and notching 21 points off the giveaways.
 
Ramar Pryor finished with 16 points to lead Central State in the loss, while Brandon Scott also notched double digits, tallying 12 points for the visitors in the loss.
