Men's Basketball slips on Saturday night

DAYTON – A hot start to the second half was not enough for the Wright State men's basketball team on Saturday night, as the Raiders fell 74-60 to visiting Oakland in Horizon League action.

Down 12 at the break, Wright State (14-12, 9-6 Horizon) opened the second half with 15 of the first 21 points over a four-plus minute stretch to within three at 42-39. Oakland (16-10, 11-4 Horizon) answered with a 10-2 run of its own to push the margin back to double digits. The Raiders cut the margin to seven twice in two minutes down the stretch, but Oakland responded both times to stop any potential run.

Tanner Holden notched his second double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds and adding five steals and three assists, as one of four Raiders in double figures. Holden collected 10 points in the second half, including eight during that early second half scoring run.

Trey Calvin added 14 points and Brandon Noel had 11 points as both finished 5-of-14 shooting, with Noel pulling down eight rebounds. Alex Huibregtse chipped in 10 points while AJ Braun had eight points and eight rebounds.
