Raiders unveil Tobey Family Golf Studio

DAYTON – The Wright State athletic department is excited to announce the completion of the new Tobey Family Golf Studio, a state-of-the-art training facility for the Raider men's golf program. At nearly 2,700 square feet, the new space provides student-athletes with access to the tools necessary to work on their game, regardless of outdoor weather conditions.

"First, I want to offer a big thank you to the Tobey Family and the McSemek Family for making this facility possible," said Director of Athletics Bob Grant. "The Tobey Family Golf Studio has instantly become a vital tool in the continued development and preparation for our Raider golfers. This facility will offer our student-athletes opportunities to practice and hone their skills year-round, regardless of weather conditions. We are excited to call the Tobey Family Golf Studio home now and for years to come."

"Thank you to the Tobey Family and the McSemek Family for their investment in Wright State Golf," head coach Conner Lash said. "This facility is a game-changer for us as it gives our student-athletes a space to practice year-round and not have to worry about the season and the potential outdoor weather issues we previously ran into during the winter months. The completion of this project has taken our program to the next level and I couldn't be more excited for the future."

Located inside the Nutter Center, the Tobey Family Golf Studio boasts 1100 square feet of putting green which was installed by ProPutt, the industry leader in artificial putting surfaces. The Tom & Ellie Shulman Putting Green, which also features dedicated chipping patches, features natural contours that mimic conditions players will find on the course. The length of the green allows for putts of up to 60 feet.

Along with the putting green, players also have access to two hitting bays, each complete with a Foresight GC3 launch monitor. The David & Sandy McSemek Hitting Bays allow players to obtain accurate and instant feedback on the measurables within every shot. The facility also features the Bob & Linda Nevin Coach's Office, as well as custom-built lockers for players to store their clubs and other equipment.
