DAYTON – The Wright State baseball team fell short to Milwaukee 19-6 on Saturday afternoon, moving to 10-8 on the season and 1-1 in the Horizon League. The two teams will play for the series win on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Fans can keep up with the action through live stats.

The Raiders struggled at bat, recording six runs on nine hits with four walks, against their eight strikeouts. Wright State's nine hits came with two each from
Jay Luikart and
Ben Vore, and one each from
Carson Clark,
Julian Greenwell,
Nate Manley,
Boston Smith, and
Dane Thomas. Both Luikart and Vore had a double on the day. Clark reached base twice on walks, while Manley and Thomas reached on a walk once.
Wright State's runs began in the first inning, as a single by Greenwell allowed Vore to score. Manley followed sending Luikart and Greenwell across home plate. They added two more in the second with a two RBI double by Luikart, allowing Thomas and Vore to score. The final Raider run was scored in the fourth after Smith hit a single, advancing to second on an error, sending Baker to score.
Milwaukee took an early lead, adding eight runs in the first two innings. The Panthers raised their lead to six in the fifth, scoring another four runs. The final runs of the game were scored in the sixth, as Milwaukee added seven runs for a 19-6 lead. The game ended after seven innings due to the Horizon League's newly implemented ten-run rule.
Warren Hartzel (0-1) was charged with the day's loss after allowing four runs on four hits in his one inning on the mound. Duke Benge entered in the sixth, finishing the game allowing no runs with two hits with two strikeouts.
Logan Snow (1-2) was awarded the win after allowing only one run with two hits and one walk in his five innings on the mound. Milwaukee finished the day with 19 runs on 17 hits with 10 walks against their eight strikeouts. They were led by Carson Hansen's five hits with three RBI. Hanson added three doubles on the day.
