MEMPHIS, TN – The Wright State baseball team fell 13-12 to Memphis in game two of their weekend series on Saturday. The Raiders are now 2-7 on the season, and will finish the series on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Wright State finished the night with 12 runs on 16 hits, with seven walks and one hit by pitch in their 42 at bats.
Julian Greenwell stood out in the stat book, putting up five hits with four RBI, and two of the three Raider doubles.
Sammy Sass finished the day with three hits and one RBI, followed by
Jay Luikart with two hits and three RBI.
Drew Baker tallied two hits, while
Luke Arnold,
Gus Gregory, and
Ben Vore each had one hit and one RBI.
Parker Harrison recorded on hit on the day. The Saturday game saw seven walks for the Raiders, with one each from Arnold, Gregory, Luikart, Sass,
Carson Clark, and
Patrick Fultz.
Memphis took an initial lead, putting up a single and two RBI homer in the bottom of the first. Their lead was not long lasting, as two RBI single by Luikart lowered their advantage to one, 3-2. Greenwell went on to give Wright State the lead with a two run double in the fourth, followed by Sass with a single for a two-run lead, 5-3. Wright State's run continued into the fifth, as they loaded the bases with singles by Baker and Harrison, and a walk by Clark. Baker scored after Gregory was walked, pushing the Tigers into a pitching change. Greenwell followed with another two RBI hit, raising the Raider lead to five, 8-3.
The Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, putting up two singles and a three-run home run, 8-8. Memphis took back the lead in the next inning, first scoring two runs on a throwing error, then while grounding into a double-play, 11-8. There was little action in the seventh, with one walk for the Raiders and two for the Tigers, but no runs scored. Wright State tied the game, beginning with a single by Vore, followed by Clark with a sacrifice bunt, and a single by Arnold for the run to tie the game, 11-11. Luikart's single in the top of the ninth sent Greenwell across home plate, giving the Raiders a 12-11 lead. Memphis secured the victory by scoring on a wild pitch and a single to center field, ending the day with a score of 13-12.
Ty Roder started on the mound for the Raiders, allowing three runs on five hits with one walk and two strikeouts in his three innings of work.
Mychal Grogan entered in the fourth, staying for 1 and one-third innings, allowing five runs on three hits, with two hit by pitches and three strikeouts. Being charged with the Saturday loss was
Garret Simpson, after he allowed the scoring runner to reach base on a double.
Jake Curtis (1-1) was awarded the win, after entering for the ninth, and allowing only one run by the Raiders. Curtis finished the day with one run on two hits with one strikeout. The Tigers finished with 13 runs on 14 hits, with six walks and four hit by pitches, against their eight strikeouts. Leading the way for Memphis was Jacob Compton with three hits and five RBI on his three at bats, including the two Tiger home runs. Curtis also gave three hits on the day, two of which being a part of the three Tiger doubles.
