DAYTON – Wright State head men's basketball coach Clint Sargent has announced the addition of transfer Jack Doumbia to join the Raider program.
Doumbia, a 6-6 wing player from Lanham, Maryland, joins the Raiders after spending the last two seasons at Norfolk State.
"Our staff is extremely excited about the addition of Jack and his family to our program," Sargent said. "His high character and passion for winning fit perfectly with how we operate. His winning experience, defensive versatility, and athleticism are all areas where we wanted to improve our roster and he checks all those boxes."
Doumbia played in 40 games over the last two seasons at Norfolk State, averaging 13.5 minutes per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and pulling down 85 rebounds, including 58 on the defensive glass. He added 26 steals over two seasons and tallied 11 blocks. He pulled down a Norfolk State career-best 10 rebounds in November 2022 and grabbed multiple boards in 26 contests over two years. Doumbia had six double figure scoring games with the Spartans, with his Norfolk State career-best 17 points coming back in December 2023, and tallied five-plus points in 18 contests.
Doumbia played at Tallahassee Community College in the 2021-22 season, averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds as he was named to the All-Panhandle Conference Second Team. He began his collegiate career at Cloud County Community College in 2020-21, averaging 14.4 points and 5.7 rebounds over seven games before his season was cut short due to injury. Doumbia was named the Maryland Independent Schools Athletic League Player of the Year after averaging 27 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior at Lanham Christian School.
