Women’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Horizon League Schedule

DAYTON/INDIANAPOLIS – The Wright State women's basketball program announced its 2024-25 Horizon League schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The 20-game double round-robin slate will begin in December.

The Raiders kick off conference play on the road, traveling to Detroit Mercy December 4 and Oakland December 6. The Raiders will host Cleveland State for their 2024-25 conference home opener on December 16. WSU closes 2024 at home, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne (December 28).
WSU will open the new year at Milwaukee (January 2) and Green Bay (January 4) before returning home to host Detroit Mercy on January 8 and Youngstown State (January 12). The Raiders will have a one-game road trip to IU Indy (January 15), returning to the Nutter Center for their second meetings with Green Bay (January 23) and Milwaukee (January 25).
Wright State will have only three home matchups in February, hosting Northern Kentucky (February 1), IU Indy (February 5), and Oakland (February 19). They will travel for their second meetings with Purdue Fort Wayne (February 8), Youngstown State (February 13), Northern Kentucky (February 22), and Cleveland State (February 26).
The Raiders will conclude the regular season at home, hosting RMU on March 1.
The Horizon League Basketball Championship will begin with early-round matchups on campus March 4 and 6. Semifinals and Championship games are set for March 10-11.

Detroit Mercy is coming off a 17-16 record and a 9-11 mark in HL play in 2023-24. The Titans entered post-season play sixth in the HL, taking down RMU in the first round before falling to Purdue Fort Wayne in the Quarterfinals. The Raiders lead the all-time series 38-28, which includes 14-straight victories over Detroit. WSU won twice against the Titans by an average margin of eight points last year.
Oakland (Dec. 6, Rochester, MI | Feb. 19, Nutter Center)
The Golden Grizzlies finished the 2023-24 season with a 12-17 overall record, going 8-12 in conference. Oakland competed in the first round of the HL tournament, entering as the No. 8 seed, falling to No. 9 Northern Kentucky. The Raiders hold a 21-7 all-time record over the Golden Grizzlies, as the two went 1-1 last season, each winning at home.
Cleveland State (Dec. 16, Nutter Center | Feb. 26, Cleveland, OH)
The Vikings took the 2023-24 HL regular season title, going 29-6 overall and 18-2 in conference. The No. 1 seed defeated Northern Kentucky and Wright State in the HL Tournament, falling to No. 2 Green Bay in the championship. CSU went on to play in the WBIT, falling to Toledo in the first round. The Vikings hold a close 45-42 all-time record over Wright State, last meeting in March of 2024 in the HL Semifinals.
