The Raiders outshot Valpo 10-3 in the first 45 minutes, but were topped in saves, 5-2. Though being bested in shots, the Beacons were the first on the board, as freshman midfielder Kaylee Shafer found the back of the net in the 32nd minute with an assist from Sam Gountounas.
Baker entered as keeper at the half, tallying six saves, matching her career best from 2021. Wright held strong defense through the half, as the Beacons added eight shots in the final 45 minutes.
In the 77th minute, Hartmann was fouled in the box, earning the Raiders a penalty kick. Though the PK was missed, Hartmann was quick to react, recording her career-first goal unassisted as she shot over the Valpo keeper. The game stayed close, but Valpo ultimately took home the victory as Shafer scored in the 87th minute with an assist from Addy Joiner.
