New Castle, DE – The Wright State bowling team opened play at the Northeast Classic on Friday afternoon, going 2-3 in the first day of action to sit in 18th in the loaded, 38-team field.

Saturday's action gets underway at 9:25 a.m. and will feature five traditional matches before the weekend wraps up on Sunday at 8:25 a.m. with bracket play (three best-of-seven Baker matches).
Teams bowled five head-to-head Baker matches on Friday, with the Raiders grabbing wins over Howard (883-718) and Bryant (1,018-875) while falling in tight contests against No. 7 Wichita State (960-953) and No. 4 Youngstown State (1,113-1,018) and also dropping a matchup against No. 6 Stephen F. Austin (1,169-876).
The Raiders finished with a 4,748 total pinfall on Friday with a 189.9 average game score.
Saturday's traditional matches will see Wright State square off against Norfolk State, No. 19 Merrimack, No. 3 Nebraska, Dominican (NY) and No. 13 McKendree.
