DAYTON – The No. 20 Wright State bowling team heads to northeast Ohio for action at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic. The three-day tournament at Holiday Bowl in Struthers, Ohio, will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m., and the championship will be decided on Sunday.

There will be five Baker matches on Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m., and total pinfall will determine the winners of each head-to-head match. Five traditional matches will follow on Saturday starting at 9:25 a.m. with total pinfall again determining the winners. The total pins from the first 10 matches of the tournament will determine seeding for bracket play on Sunday, which will begin at 8:25 a.m. The bracket matches will be contested in a best-of-seven Baker format.

Five of the top six teams in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Preseason Poll will be competing with the No. 20 Raiders and tournament host No. 4 Youngstown State. Ranked teams include No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 11 Sacred Heart, No. 12 Duquesne, No. 14 Mount St. Mary's, No. 21 Valparaiso and No. 25 Niagara. Lewis and Mercyhurst are each receiving votes, while Alabama A&M, Coppin State, Saint Anselm, Walsh and Western Illinois round out the field.
Wright State opened its 2025-26 campaign with a second-place finish at the Mercyhurst Invite as
Alli Shattuck and
Mia Sayles took home the top two individual spots. The Raiders followed that up with a third-place finish last weekend at the Warhawk Classic with
Jasmine Schulze and
Mia Sayles snagging the top two individual spots.
