Greven’s Goal Not Enough as Raiders Fall to Oakland

Rochester, MI- The Wright State men's soccer team fell 1-2 to Oakland on the road Friday afternoon.
 
Wright State (2-12-1, 2-6 HL) will return home for its final match of the 2025 regular season as Robert Morris visits Alumni Field. First touch against the Colonials is slated for Tuesday, November 4, at 2 p.m.
 
Oakland got on the board early at home, netting the first goal of the match in the third minute. Gabriel Baylon sent a cross into the box off a corner kick that found the head of Andriy Bilous, who deflected the ball into the back of the net with his head.
 
The Golden Grizzlies would double their lead in the 16th minute. Noah Roka played a long throw into the box that Bilous flicked on to Tim Allos, who sent a header into the back of the net.
 
The teams exchanged seven shots each in the second half, with each team forcing the opposing goalies to make multiple saves.
 
Oskar Greven would get the Raiders on the board in the 84th minute. Brayden Tester sent a shot at the Oakland Goalie, who deflected it into the middle of the box to the feet of Greven, who tapped the ball into the back of the net.
 
On the box score, Wright State trailed Oakland in shots (9-16) and were tied in shots on goal (6-6) and corner kick opportunities (5-5). Zakaria Amro, Roman Kedgley, and Marko Odorcic played all 90 minutes in the field for the Raiders.
