DAYTON- The Wright State women's basketball team won its third straight game Sunday afternoon in the Nutter Center, taking down Evansville 69-60.

Wright State (3-1) will continue its four-game home stand on Wednesday, November 19, as Bellarmine visits the Nutter Center. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. as the Raiders host their annual Education Day game.

Rylee Sagester and
Lauren Scott each scored season highs with 19 and 17 points, respectively, to power the Wright State offense.
Claire Henson led the squad in rebounds with eight and assists with six.

The Raiders started the game on fire, hitting their first three shots to jump out to a 7-0 lead and force an Evansville timeout less than two minutes into the game. Wright State kept up the pressure, leading 22-6 after the first 10 minutes of play thanks to 13 first-quarter points by Sagester, who hit three triples in the quarter.

Scott took over in the second quarter, scoring 12 points of the Raiders' points in the period on an efficient 83% shooting and knocking down a pair of three pointers. Evansville would outscore Wright State in the second to cut the lead down to 13 heading into halftime.

Evansville shrunk the Wright State lead to as low as six points in the final 20 minutes, but the Raiders were able to lead wire-to-wire for the second straight game. Wright State knocked down 14 free throws off 18 attempts in the final 20 minutes of the game to hold off the Purple Aces.

In the box score, Wright State led in second-chance points (13-8) and fast break points (8-5), but trailed Evansville in bench points (16-23). The two squads were tied in points in the paint with 24 apiece. Evansville won the rebounding battle, grabbing 41 rebounds to Wright State's 31.
