Chloe Chard Peloquin has a career day at Hinkle Fieldhouse as the Raiders drop the season opener at Butler 53-74.
 
Wright State (0-1) will hit the road again, traveling down to the Volunteer State for a Friday night match-up with the Tennessee State Tigers. The match is set to tip off at 8 p.m. ET.
 
Chard Peloquin recorded new career highs in points (15), rebounds (11), three-pointers made (3), three-pointers attempted (4), and tied a career high in field goals made (6). The senior shot a stellar 67% from the floor and 75% from beyond the three-point line. The double-double is the first of Chard Peloquin's career.
 
The Raiders came out firing in the first quarter, making their first three buckets of the game, two of which came from Chard Peloquin. The Raiders continued to fire on all cylinders for the first five minutes of the game, jumping out to a 10-point lead thanks to a 7-0 run. Butler then went on a run of their own to tie the game up at 16 apiece at the end of the first quarter.
 
Butler dominated the second quarter out outscoring the Raiders 20-8. The Bulldogs took the lead with 8:45 remaining in the second quarter and never looked back, holding the lead the rest of the game.
 
Wright State bounced back from a rough offensive second quarter by shooting 40% from the floor in the final 20 minutes. Chard Peloquin led the way for the Raiders in the second half with seven points and rebounds in 12 minutes.
 
In the box score, 
Claire Henson joined Chard Peloquin in scoring double-digit points, shooting 50% from the floor. Henson also grabbed nine rebounds, one shy of her career high. Just behind them in points were

Abbie Riddle (6). 
Breezie Williams, 
Grace Okih, 
Elaina Rager, and 
Maja Dilen all made their Wright State debuts, with Rager scoring the first points of her collegiate career by draining a three-pointer in the second half.
