Amaya Staton Named #HLWBB Player of the Week

DAYTON/INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State women's basketball's Amaya Staton has been named the Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Staton is the second Raider to earn HL weekly honors this season, as Rylee Sagester was named the Freshman of the Week on January 13.
A native of Lorain, Ohio, Staton led the team to a 78-76 overtime win at Youngstown State on Thursday, February 13. The graduate forward tallied her tenth double-double of the season, recording a season-best 23 points and matching a career high 16 rebounds. Staton ended the night shooting 7-of-12 from the floor, going nine-of-ten on the free throw line.
Wright State returns home on Wednesday, February 19, to face Oakland at 7 p.m. The game will stream on EPSN+.
