Raiders op top after 36 holes, Hollenbeck in individual lead

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team holds the team lead and Timmy Hollenbeck is the individual leader after 36 holes at the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club. The Raiders will look for their fifth-straight team title at the event on Monday. Action gets underway Monday at 9 a.m. with the final 18 holes.

The Raiders will get underway on Monday from holes one and two while the Raider individuals will tee off from hole 16.

Wright State heads into Monday at 11-under overall. The Raiders were third as a group at six-under after the first round, two shots back of Cleveland State, who will go into the final round third at six-under, while Ohio Dominican is second as a group at eight-under. Hollenbeck opened with a five-under first round 66 to lead after 18 holes and followed that up with a four-under 67 and is nine-under heading into Monday after he carded three eagles and seven birdies over his 36 holes.

Brock Rumpke, playing as an individual, is tied for third at three-under after an opening round 70 and then a second round 69 that featured eight total birdies, including seven in a row from holes 7-13. Andrew Flynn and Adam Horn are both tied for 16th at one-under, with Flynn carding rounds of 70 and 71 with four birdies and an eagle as Horn opened with a 70 before a second round 71 and eight total birdies.

Shane Ochs is a couple shots back in a tie for 22nd at even par, opening with a one-over 72 before a second round one-under 70, notching 10 total birdies across his 36 holes. Ali Berker and Ian Asch are part of a group tied for 31st at two-over, with Berker opening with a 73 before a second round 70 as he carded five total birdies. Asch notched a pair of rounds of 72 as he tallied six birdies over his 36 holes.
