COLUMBUS – The Wright State baseball team fell to Ohio State 18-2 on Tuesday evening. The Raiders, now 21-14 overall, will remain on the road for Horizon League play, traveling to Rochester, Michigan, for a three-game series beginning Thursday, April 17.
Wright State's only scoring play came in the third, as
Boston Smith drew a walk, moving to third on a
Gus Gregory double. Both runners were driven in by a single to left center by
JP Peltier.
The Buckeyes took an early ten-run lead, opening the scoring in the first with a two-RBI single followed by a three-run homer. They then plated runs on a groundout and a fielder's choice. OSU added another run in the second on a groundout. The Buckeyes hit two RBI doubles in the third to push the lead to double digits. In the fourth, they extended the advantage with a two-run homer to right field. OSU added an RBI single in the sixth before capping the scoring with a three-run homer, ending the game in seven innings via the ten-run rule.
