BATAVIA, OH – The Wright State golf team is right in the thick of the team leaderboard after Monday's opening round at The Jewell, with the Raiders sitting tied for second as a team at two-over with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.
Â
The Raiders and Bellarmine are just off the pace of IU Indy, who holds the team lead at two-under, while Robert Morris and Northern Kentucky are both at three-over. Individually, Shane Ochs is two-under and one shot back of individual leader Sam Mortell of Miami (OH), while fellow Raiders Timmy Hollenbeck and Ian Asch, competing as an individual, are both at one-under going into Tuesday.
Â
Tuesday's final round is set to get underway with a 10 a.m. shotgun start, while the tournament was reduced to 36 total holes with two single rounds each day due to weather and course conditions.

Ochs tallied four birdies and worked around two bogeys on the way to his two-under 69 round, while Hollenbeck notched three birdies of his own before back-to-back bogeys on 17 and 18 gave him his one-under 70. Asch carded four birdies during his one-under 70 round, mixing in three bogeys, two of which came over his last four holes.
Â
Just behind that trio is Adam Horn and Ali Berker, each recording two-over rounds of 73. Horn tallied four birdies, including two in his first three holes, but had to navigate four bogeys and a double bogey on the par five 15th. Berker, competing as an individual, finished Monday with two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey on the par four 14th. Brock Rumpke is a shot back from that pair at three-over after a first round 74 that saw three bogeys and 15 pars, while Andrew Flynn sits at four-over after a round of 75 with four bogeys and 14 pars.
