YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Wright State track and field programs continued to tally podium finishes on on Saturday's second day of the 2025 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with
Emma Johnson winning the women's 3,000m steeplechase and
Ethan Neblock finishing third in the men's 3,000m steeplechase to highlight Saturday's action.
Sunday's final day of action will feature all finals across the schedule, set to begin with field action at 10 a.m. before the first races get underway at noon.

Johnson and Neblock saved the top Raider moments of the day for the evening's final two events, first when Johnson grabbed the women's 3,000m steeplechase title by over four seconds with her 10:44.35 mark. Johnson's time was just off her personal best mark in the event (10:41.16) set in late April at the Ashland Alumni Open. She paced four other Wright State women in the race, with
Kayla Compton (11:59.62),
Reece Barnitz (12:07.88),
Anna Johnson (12:08.44) and
Sydney Thompson (12:10.83) packed together to finish 12th through 15th.
Neblock tallied a new personal best time with his 9:04.85 time on the way to his third-place finish in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. Neblock's time was nearly 15 seconds faster than his previous best mark set in mid-April at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic. Raider teammates
Kalib Tolle (9:37.36) and
Matthew Lee (9:40.41) finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in the race as well.
A pair of Raiders qualified for Sunday's 800m finals on both the men's and women's sides, with
Nicholas Hoelscher's time of 1:51.51 the top mark from the four Saturday men's heats.
Mia Wyngarden advanced with her 2:14.15 qualifying time, the fourth-best from Saturday's four women's heats.
Hannah Falknor finished with the eighth-best time in the women's 100m prelims at 12.03 seconds to advance to Sunday's final in the event, while her 25.18 time in the women's 200m prelims was a half-second shy of qualifying for the finals at that distance.
In women's pole vault action,
Meredith Goecke found the podium after clearing 3.36m to finish eighth, while teammate
Ava Stalter was just off the podium in 12th (3.21m clearance). The heptathlon concluded on Saturday with the final three events, as
Lylla Kovacs finished ninth overall with 4369 points to lead three Raiders, with
Katlyn Delgado-Heaberlin (3386) and
Izabella Bell (3099) finishing 13th and 14th, respectively.
