Pair of podium finishes highlight Raiders’ opening day HLTF action

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Wright State track and field programs tallied a pair of podium finishes on Friday, a slow first day for the Raiders at the 2025 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with Greyson Pollock finishing third in the men's javelin with a new Wright State record mark and Heidi Stammen grabbing 10th in the women's javelin to highlight the opening day action.

Pollock turned in a mark of 54.49m, reaching the distance on his sixth and final attempt as he jumped up to the third-place finish. In addition to resetting the Wright State record, the 54.49m mark shattered Pollock's previous personal best mark of 47.58m which was just set a few weeks ago at the Ashland Alumni Open. Stammen also reset her career-best on Friday with her 32.45m mark in the women's javelin, reaching the mark on her second attempt of the afternoon on the way to the 10th-place finish. Her previous best of 31.95m also came in April at the Ashland Alumni Open.

Saturday action will pick up the pace with Raider entrees, with 11 track prelim races scheduled, along with several field events and track finals and the completion of the Heptathlon. Saturday's full slate is set to get underway at 9 a.m. with the decathlon and heptathlon, with field events getting started at noon and track action scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
