DAYTON – Wright State head men's basketball coach Clint Sargent has announced the addition of transfer Chadlyn Traylor to join the Raider program.
Traylor, a 6-3 guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, joins the Raiders after spending his first collegiate season at the College of Charleston, while he was a three-time state champion in high school.
"Chadlyn is everything we're looking for in a player in today's era of evaluating: humble, ultra-competitive, and a proven winner," Sargent said. "He brings a calm, confident presence to the floor with outstanding poise and decision-making. We believe Chadlyn has all the tools to become a dominant two-way player in this league. His upside is tremendous and we're excited about what he will bring to our program on and off the floor."
Traylor played in all 32 of the College of Charleston's games in 2025-26, averaging 17.3 minutes/game while earning his first career start against Evansville in the 2025 Paradise Jam. He scored in 24 contests, recording four double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 12 points against Florida Atlantic. Traylor shot 41.0 percent last season overall and 39.5 percent from three-point range, tallying 11 games with over a 50.0 shooting percentage. On the glass, the guard grabbed a rebound in 22 contests and had multiple boards in 10 games.
Traylor's 65 total assists were the second-most on the College of Charleston roster, with his 4.1 assist-to-turnover ratio finishing as the 12th-best mark in Division I last season. He dished out multiple assists in 18 games, including a career-best seven assists against Hampton and had a pair of five-assist nights against South Carolina State and Evansville.
Traylor, a former McDonald's All-America nominee, helped lead North Mecklenburg to back-to-back North Carolina 4A state titles in 2024 and 2025, tallying 15 points on the way to the 2024 title before a 22-point effort in the 2025 title win. He also added a North Carolina 3A state title as a freshman at West Charlotte.
Traylor becomes the first transfer addition to the Wright State roster, joining high school signees Noah Lewis and Tahj Martin.
