Jared Schmidt

Jared Schmidt is in his second year on staff for the Raiders, serving as the Director of Hitting Development.

"I couldn't be happier to have Jared on staff. His knowledge on nutrition, weightlifting, and the game of baseball are a huge benefit to our program. He also has a major impact on our players, both on and off the field," head coach Alex Sogard said.

He served as the Director of Operations for his first year with the Raiders. In 2021, the Raiders led the nation in Batting Average, On-Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage and Scoring at 10.5 runs per game.

The Cordova, Tennessee native began his collegiate baseball career at Southern Illinois University where he hit .240 and played in 24 games at third base. He then transferred to Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee where he started in 52 games, hitting .331 and helped lead the Eagles to their first trip to the NJCAA World Series. Schmidt then went on to Cumberland University to play for Coach Woody Hunt in Lebanon, Tennessee. In 2018, Schmidt hit .302 starting in 54 games while helping Cumberland earn a bid to the NAIA National Tournament. In 2019, Schmidt earned First Team All Mid-South Honors while hitting .305 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI. Cumberland was runner up in the 2019 Mid-South Conference Tournament. While obtaining his degree at Cumberland, Schmidt coached baseball at Trousdale County High School in Tennessee.

Schmidt earned an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Dyersburg State Community College in 2017 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Cumberland University in 2019.
