2012: Top 5K time was 16:05 at the Flyer Challenge...best time in the 8K was 25:21 in the All-Ohio Championships...top finish overall was 8th at the Horizon League Championships.
2011: Competed in all meets...best 5K time of 15:56 at the Queen City Invitational placing 15th...best 8K time of 25:29 at the Wilmington Fall Classic for ninth place...placed second at the Friendship Invitationa behind teammate Jason Bruns...15th at the Horizon League Meet at 27:11...named to Fall Horizon League All Academic Team.
2010: Competed in all seven races...15:51 at the 5K Queen City for 20th place...ran 20:07 in the All-Ohio 8K...posted 33:29 at the Great Lakes Regional.
Notes: Son of Calvin and Joanne Shafer...also played basketball in high school, ran track...All-Premier Athletic League...best 5K time was 16:13..qualified for regionals in 2009...regional track qualifier and team MVP.
