Lucas McKay is in just his third year at Wright State but he is very familiar with head coach Brad Brownell's style.

McKay was a student assistant for Brownell's teams at UNC Wilmington before being named an assistant coach at Harrell's Christian Academy in 2006-07. He graduated from UNCW in 2006 with a degree in political science and has worked several regional and national camps and tournaments as a coach or administrator. While serving as an assistant coach at Harrell's Christian, McKay also worked as an administrative assistant for Murphy Family Ventures of Wallace, North Carolina.

"Lucas is a hard working and dedicated young coach who I was fortunate to have at UNC Wilmington," says Brownell. "He is extremely organized and will help us a great deal administratively."

McKay will oversee the day-to-day organization of the basketball office as well as team managers, recruit mailings and scouting. McKay recently received his masters degree in student affairs in higher education at Wright State University.
