INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – Wright State guard Michael Cooper has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, the League office announced on Monday.
Cooper turned in a game-high 18 points last Monday in Wright State's win over Eastern Michigan to close non-conference action. Cooper evenly distributed his scoring, with 10 first half points before eight over the final 20 minutes, finishing with a 7-of-15 shooting line while grabbing six rebounds, one off his career-high, and adding an assist and a steal over 33 minutes of action.
Cooper leads Wright State with his 15.9 points per game average, which is currently the eighth-best scoring average in the Horizon League overall and the top scoring mark in the HL among freshman players.
Wright State wraps up the 2025 calendar year on Monday night as the Raiders get back into Horizon League play by hosting Oakland at the Nutter Center in a 7 p.m. tipoff. Fans can follow the action several ways – on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network – 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play action on the radio and television feeds.
