Kim Demmings

Affectionately known as the GOAT (Greatest of all Time), Kim Demmings returned to her alma mater during the 2016-17 season.

Demmings, a native of Richmond, IN, was the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2014 and 2016 as she was selected a Third Team High-Major All-American and named to the Naismith Watch List. Demmings finished her career with 2677 points, which is the most in school and league history.  She helped lead the Raiders to a 24-11 record and a second straight appearance in the WNIT in 2016. Kim lead the way for the first NCAA team in school history in 2014. She spent one season playing in Israel for Maagan Michael Kibbutz and averaged 12.6 points per game.

“I am honored to come back to my alma mater and work under our amazing head coach, Katrina Merriweather. With my time here, it’s been exciting to continue the growth of the women’s basketball program. We’ve created a positive, loving, and “homey” atmosphere that I fully enjoy being a part of. The coaching staff, the university, and our women’s basketball players strive to fulfill our vision and mission statement every day. I feel blessed to be able to give back to a program that gave so much to me. I am humbled and honored to continue to be a member of the Wright State Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff.”

Kim’s responsibilities surround the well-being of our student-athletes. She organizes and executes team travel and equipment. In her position, she handles the day to day activities of the team, including assisting coaches with travel and other needs, planning team meals, basic office duties, overseeing the managers, monitoring academics, and community service. Community service projects include House of Bread, Dayton Children’s Hospital, and Shoes 4 the Shoeless.

“Kim takes tremendous pride in taking care of our ladies. She has a huge impact as our players get to see a living legend on a daily basis and witness the greatness of a true champion. As special of a player as she was, she is an even better person. She is the epitome of hard-work and I am thankful she decided to return back to her alma mater.”

Demmings graduated from Wright State in Organizational Leadership in 2015 and earned her Master’s in Sports Management in 2019.
