Baseball Rolls Past Notre Dame College, 18-5

The Wright State baseball team posted their second straight victory with an 18-5 triumph over Notre Dame (OH) College. The Raiders pounded out 17 hits, walked seven times and nine different Raiders posted hits in the game.
The Green and Gold got on the board with a pair of runs in the first inning. Jeremy Hamilton single. Hamilton later scored on a Casey McGrew double, crossing the plate after a throwing error by the right fielder.
In the second inning, Dan Biedenharn drove in a pair of runs with a single and Hamilton drove in his second RBI of the game to give WSU a 5-0 lead.
Dan Barker threw three innings in the start for WSU and held the Notre Dame College offense at bay. The junior allowed two hits, walked two and struck out a pair of hitters in the victory. Barker improved to 2-1 overall on the season as he retired nine of the 11 batters he faced.
The Raiders didn't score in the third inning, but recorded runs in the next five innings. Wright State added two more in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run, home run off the bat of John Kopilchack. Freshman Sam Mote drove in a pair of runs in the sixth inning, before WSU added three runs in the seventh and eight innings to cap the scoring.
In the game, six Raiders drove in RBI's and ten players scored in the victory. Oeder paced the Green and Gold with five runs scored, he stole four bases and was two-for-two at the plate. Kopilchack hit his second home run of the season and Hamilton doubled and tripled in the contest. Biedenharn and McGrew each went four-for-six in the contest and drove in three RBI's.
The Raiders improve to 17-13 overall on the season and return to action on Tuesday, April 17 against Butler. The Raiders and Bulldogs will take to the field at Nischwitz Stadium for a 6:30 first pitch.
