The Wright State baseball team swept a day-night, doubleheader against two different opponents on Tuesday, winning 6-4 at Dayton in ten innings and beating Cedarville at home, 11-3, in the nightcap. The Raiders were led by a two-RBI game from Brian Shoup at UD and three RBI's apiece from Stephen Marquez and J.C. Ramatowski against Cedarville.
The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning against Dayton, scoring on a throwing error by Dayton starting pitcher Chris Beesley. Casey McGrew's sacrifice bunt was thrown wide of first base.

Chris Nighland would come on to throw two scoreless innings in relief to hold the Raiders lead at 1-0. Nighland allowed only one hit and struck out a batter in the appearance.
WSU extended their lead to 2-0 in the seventh inning on a Gerald Ogrinc solo home run. Ogrinc sent a 2-1 offering from Beesley over the left field fence for his second round-tripper of the season.
Alex Kaminsky came on in the seventh inning to relieve Nighland and surrendered the first run of the game to UD. A Scott Dunwoody single was followed by a Bobby Getty double, putting runners on second and third with no outs. Kaminsky coaxed a line out by the next batter and the run scored on a Joe McSoley ground out to third base.
With WSU leading 2-1, the Flyers took the lead on a pair of RBI singles from Dunwoody and Getty. Kaminsky hit Frank Tedesco to start the inning before retiring the next two batters, with Tedesco moving to third. Nate Stevens came on to relieve Kaminsky and hit the first batter he faced to put runners on the corners. McSoley then singled to center field to score the game tying run and Getty singled up the middle to score the go ahead run.
The Raiders tied the game up in the ninth inning when McGrew singled and stole second base to start the inning. Shoup then sent a ball into the left-center field, scoring McGrew, to tie the game at 3-3. With Shoup on first, UD reliever Lucas Farden hit Ogrinc and walked John Kopilchack to load the bases. Ross Oeder then hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Shoup, to give WSU a 4-3 lead.
Stevens walked the leadoff batter in the ninth inning and after retiring the next two batters, before Haselhorst singled up the middle to tie the game at 4-4. The Flyers (17-22) couldn't hold the Raiders in the extra frame though.
The Green and Gold loaded the bases in the tenth inning with walks to Dan Biedenharn, McGrew and Parker. The go-ahead run crossed the plate when Shoup's fly ball to center field allowed Biedenharn to score to give WSU a 5-4 lead. Aaron Field then singled to drive in Parker from third and provide the final margin of victory for WSU at 6-4.
