Brownell Rounds Out Staff

Sept. 5, 2007

Wright State head men's basketball coach Brad Brownell announced today the staff addition of Lucas McKay as Administrative Assistant.

Woods, recently an assistant coach at Saginaw Valley State University, has also held assistant coaching positions Manchester (IN) College and DePauw (IN) University as well as several high schools in Indiana. Woods graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1993 where he was named all-league as a junior and senior. In 2003, he was inducted into Rose-Hulman's Hall of Fame.

"We are very fortunate to hire someone with Scott's experience in our director of basketball operations position," Brownell said. "He has held several assistant coaching positions at smaller colleges and he is excited about the opportunity at the division I level."

McKay was a student assistant for Brownell's teams at UNC Wilmington before being named an assistant coach at Harrell's Christian Academy last year. He graduated from UNCW in 2006 with a degree in political science and has worked several regional and national camps and tournaments as a coach or administrator.

"Lucas is a hard working and dedicated young coach who I was fortunate to have at UNC-Wilmington," Brownell said. "He is extremely organized and will help us a great deal administratively."

Woods replaces Cliff Dillard who recently took a head coaching position at a high school in North Carolina while McKay takes over for John Moseley, now an assistant coach at Winston-Salem State University.

The Raiders advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 1993 and posted a record of 23-10. WSU will open the season November 19, hosting Coastal Carolina at the Nutter Center.
