Box Score Wright State hit 11 of 22 three-pointers and the four seniors combined for 70 points as the Raiders rolled to a 76-61 win over Air Force Wednesday night at Wright State's Nutter Center.
Air Force led 3-2 early before three Troy Tabler threes helped give WSU the lead for good at 11-7. Another Tabler three at the 9:58 mark push the margin into double figures at 23-13 and the Falcons would get no closer than nine the rest of the period as Wright State took a 40-28 halftime lead.
The Falcons hit 10 of 17 shots for 59 percent in the first half compared to 48 percent shooting for the Raiders, but WSU also connected on seven of 12 three-pointers and was nine of 10 at the foul line while Air Force was just one of two from behind the arc and seven of 10 at the stripe.
The duo of N'Gai Evans and Vaughn Duggins broke the game open for Wright State to start the second half as Evans had eight and Duggins five in a 13-0 run to make it 53-28 with 15:51 to play.
WSU's lead would be no smaller than 19 the rest of the way until the Falcons scored six of the game's final seven points.
Air Force was 22 of 36 from the floor for the game for 61 percent and was 16 of 21 at the foul line, but was only one of six from three-point range while the Raiders were 24 of 50 from the field, including 11 of 22 from behind the arc, and were 17 of 21 from the foul line.
The Falcons led 36-20 in points in the paint, but WSU countered with a 20-0 differential in second-chance points.
Three starters scored in double figures for Wright State as Duggins finished with 22, Evans with 19, 17 coming after halftime, and Tabler with 19, 16 coming in the first half. Fellow senior Cooper Land added nine as the quartet combined for 70 points.
Derek Brooks paced Air Force (5-2) with 13 points off the bench while Taylor Broekhuis had 12 and Michael Lyons 10.
