Men Fall to Cincinnati

Box Score

Wright State scored first, but it was all Cincinnati from there as the Bearcats scored the next 17 points and went on to a 78-58 decision over the Raiders Wednesday night at WSU's Nutter Center.

Reggie Arceneaux opened the scoring with a layup, but the Bearcats followed with the decisive run, nine of those coming on three three-pointrs by Sean Kilpatrick.

Cincinnati led 43-22 at the half as they shot 57 percent from the field overall, including nine of 20 from behind the arc, while the Raiders were at 40 percent.

WSU opened the second half with five straight points on a John Balwigaire three and a Vance Hall jumper and later trailed 50-34 on a Cole Darling layup with 14:09 to play, but would get no closer.

The Bearcats shot 55 percent on the night and were 14 of 32 from three-point range while the Raiders shot 48 percent altogether and were five of 12 from behind the arc.  Cincinnati also led 23-2 in second-chance points as they held a 12-5 advantage on offensive rebounds.

AJ Pacher and Balwigaire each had 11 to lead the Raiders while Hall had 10.

All five starters scored in double figures for Cincinnati (6-3) as Kilpatrick had 20, JaQuon Parker 14, Cashmere Wright 12, Justin Jackson 11 and Dion Dixon 10.

Wright State (4-7) continues the four-game homestand on Saturday, December 17, against Ohio starting at 7:00.  The game can be seen live on Dayton's CW.
