Men Fall at Air Force

Box Score

The men's basketball team found the offense hard to come by Wednesday night as the Raiders dropped a 55-34 decision at Air Force.

WSU trailed just 3-2 following a Cole Darling jumper, but the Falcons followed with a 15-0 run over the next 7:30 to take control.  The two teams played nearly even the rest of the period as Air Force led 27-13 at the break.

The Raiders hit five of 27 shots in the opening 20 minutes, including one of 10 from three-point range, while the Falcons made 10 of 21 attempts for 48 percent overall and were five of 11 from behind the arc.

Air Force gradually built on the lead in the second half as the Falcons shot 38 percent in the period to finish at 42 percent overall.  Wright State, in comparison, ended the game at 20 percent altogether and was two of 19 from three.

Cole Darling led the Raiders with seven points while Julius Mays had six.

Michael Lyons paced Air Force (4-2) with 15 points, 10 coming in the first half.

Wright State (3-6) faces the Miami RedHawks Saturday at 3:00 at Millett Hall.
