Baseball Falls to Bowling Green

The Wright State baseball team could not overcome an early 6-2 deficit in dropping an 8-6 decision to Bowling Green Tuesday night at Nischwitz Stadium.
Bowling Green came out swinging, using seven hits in scoring four times in the first and two in the second. WSU, meanwhile, tallied two in the first on a Garrett Gray double and a Zach Tanner single and added another in the third on a Michale Timm RBI single.
The Falcons added two more in the sixth and those turned out to be key as the Raiders closed the deficit to 8-6 with three in the eighth. With one out, Timm singled up the middle and moved up to second one out later on a hit up the middle by Jake Hibberd. Ryan Ashe drove in both Timm and Hibberd with a double down the left field line and scored as Tristan Moore singled to right.
WSU, though, could get no closer despite having the potential tying run at the plate in both the eighth and ninth.
Hibberd, Moore, Justin Kopale and Timm each had two hits to pace the Raider offense.
Wright State (23-12) faces another Mid-American Conference team on Wednesday as the Raiders head to Toledo for a 3:00 contest.
