An Eric Lynch goal in the 74th minute proved to be the game-winner Wednesday night as the men's soccer prevailed over Eastern Illinois 1-0 at Alumni Field.
Lynch connected on his third goal of the season at the 73:07 mark of the second half as the senior forward collected the ball from the Panther defense and hit a long shot from the left side of the box.
Freshman goalkeeper Joel Sundell posted his second straight shutout in the victory, recording three saves in the process.
WSU outshot EIU 14-10 and held a 16-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Wright State (5-3) returns to Horizon League play on Saturday, September 24, with a 4:30 match at Northern Kentucky.
