The Wright State men's soccer team tallied two goals late in the first half and added two more in the second half for a 4-0 Horizon League victory at Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon.
The match was scoreless until senior forward Peguy Ngatcha gave WSU a 1-0 advantage with a goal at the 42:06 mark of the first half. Â Ngatcha dribbled past the NKU defense to the top of the box and connected on a shot in the bottom left of the net. Â Junior midfielder AJ Paterson was credited with the assist.
Freshman forward Elliot Cutts then put the Raiders up 2-0 heading into halftime with his first collegiate goal at the 43:58 mark, hitting a shot from 18 yards out. Â Sophomore midfielder Jackson Dietrich picked up the assist, his fifth of the season.
Ngatcha struck again with his second goal of the night and eighth of the year at the 56:23 mark of the second half, with senior Eric Lynch recording his fourth assist. Â Sophomore Luke Treadway rounded out the scoring with his first goal of the season at the 75:26 mark as Paterson notched his second assist of the match and season.
Freshman goalkeeper Joel Sundell recorded his third straight shutout with a save.
Wright State outshot Northern Kentucky 19-6, including 9-1 on shots on goal.
Wright State (6-3, 2-1 Horizon) travels to North Carolina State for a 7:00 match on Tuesday, September 27.
