Women's Basketball to Host Eastern Illinois

Coming off a season-opening 106-52 win at Northwestern Ohio Friday night, the Wright State women's basketball comes home to host Eastern Illinois Tuesday night at 7 pm.
Wright State
The Raiders used strong offense and defense to post the win as senior Chelsea Welch collected 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals in 30 minutes while Mackenzie Taylor continued her hot hand with 20 points, six threes, five assists and four steals. Freshman Breaunna Lloyd had her debut with 19 points off the bench. Fellow newcomer Kiana Adderton added 14 points and eight boards.Â
Eastern Illinois
The Panthers opened the season with a 93-64 loss at home against Northern Illinois. Kelly Smith led EIU with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Mikayla Voigt finished with 14 points. Eastern Illinois was picked to finish last in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll but did pick up two exhibitions wins against Indiana State and Rose-Hulman.
Wright State leads the overall series 5-4 as the teams once were foes in the Mid-Contintent Conference (now Summit League) in the early 90's.

The Raiders travel to play Missouri Saturday at 8 pm.
