The Wright State women's basketball team defeated Eastern Illinois 81-46 at the WSU Nutter Center Tuesday night.
First Quarter Highlights
Senior
Chelsea Welch took control early as she scored the first six points of the game. The Raiders pushed that lead to 19-13 as the buzzer sounded. Senior
Lexi Smith added six points as the Raiders shot 35% overall and outrebounded the Panthers 16-11.
Second Quarter Highlights
36-20 was the halftime score as the Raiders used a balanced scoring attack led by Smith's eight points.Â
Mackenzie Taylor and Welch had six points in the first 20 as the Raiders shot 35% from the field and dominated the boards 31-17.Â
Emily Vogelpohl had six rebounds.
Third Quarter Highlights
The Raiders outscored the Panthers in the third quarter 20-9 to make the score 56-29 after 30 minutes of play. All but one Raider has scored, led by Welch's 13 points with a high of eight rebounds.  Â
Fourth Quarter Highlights
Wright State cruised to a final of 81-46 with a very balanced attack. Welch ended with 15 points and eight boards as Taylor finished 11 points. Freshman Nia Sumpter had 10 points in 14 minutes and Smith had 10 points. The Raiders shot 52% from the field and 42% overall. Every player got minutes with all scoring but one. WSU outrebounded the Panthers 54-34 overall.
