The Wright State men's basketball team had its final tuneup of the preseason, coming away winners 73-58 at the WSU Nutter Center Friday night.
First Half Highlights
The Raiders led 40-39 at halftime as
Justin Mitchell posted 14 points, five rebounds and five assists. He shot 6-11 from the field and hit two threes. Freshman
Loudon Love added eight points and seven boards while
Mark Hughes collected eight points. Wright State shot 44% from the field and 5-11 from three-point range. Wayne State shot 52% overall with seven threes. WSU outrebounded the Wildcats 19-14. Kendall Jacks had six points for WSC.
Second Half Highlights
Wright State pulled away in the final 20 minutes of play, outscoring Wayne State 33-19. Mitchell added nine points to finish with 23 points, 12 boards, seven assists and three steals. Hughes got 13 more points, ending with 21 points with four threes. Love also ended with a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Junior
Alan Vest started the game as he pulled down eight rebounds.
For the game, the Raiders shot 46% from the field and hit seven threes overall while the Wildcats shot 38%, just 22% in the second half. Wright State won the boards 41-29.
