Raiders Hold on for Win over Milwaukee

Wright State Women Win 10th of the Season

The Wright State women's basketball team held on, scoring the final six points of the game to secure the 56-51 win over Milwaukee Saturday afternoon at the WSU Nutter Center.  Senior Chelsea Welch posted her fourth-straight 20-point game as she paced the Raiders with 21 points. 

GAME SUMMARY

First Half Highlights
  • The Raiders led 27-25 at halftime after leading 14-13 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Wright State spread the scoring and were led by senior Chelsea Welch's seven points as Mackenzie Taylor and Lexi Smith each had six points.
  • Symone Simmons had six of the Raiders' 18 rebounds.
  • Milwaukee had 11 turnovers compared to just four for WSU.
  • Wright State had the largest lead of eight points at 12-4 early.
  • Stephanie Kostowicz had 11 points to pace the Panthers

  • The Panthers took the lead at 51-50 with 2:02 remaining but the Raiders outscored UWM 6-0 for the win.
  • UWM had 19 turnovers while the Raiders had just seven.

  • The Raiders outscored the Panthers 34-26 in the paint.
