Raiders Head to Wisconsin

Winners of seven of the last nine games, the Wright State women's basketball team take to the road again for games at Milwaukee Thursday at 8 pm and at Green Bay Saturday at 2 pm. Both games will be shown live on ESPN3.
The Raiders head into the weekend with a record of 16-6, 7-3 after splitting last weekend, losing at Cleveland State 71-70 in overtime and bouncing back at Youngstown State 69-59 for the win. Senior Chelsea Welch leads the Raiders and the Horizon League at 21.5 points per game while Emily Vogelpohl sits at 11.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game. She needs just 40 points for 1,000 career points as senior Lexi Smith needs 48 points to join that exclusive club. Symone Simmons leads the team in rebounding at 8.6.

- The Panthers are 16-6, 7-3 and tied with the Raiders for third place.
- Milwaukee has won six of the last seven, including the most recent over UIC at home Sunday afternoon 59-44.
- The Raiders won the earlier meeting on Dec. 30 56-51 at the Nutter Center.
- Welch led all scorers with 21 points, and UWM's Steph Kostowicz had 17 points.
- Kostowicz leads the Panthers at 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
- The Phoenix are currently 18-2, 8-1 and will host Northern Kentucky before the Raiders come to town.
- Green Bay won at Wright State 58-51 to start the league schedule on Dec. 28.
- Welch had 22 points in that game to lead all scorers as Jessica Lindstrom and Allie LeClaire each had 15 to pace the Phoenix.
- Linstrom leads UWGB at 14.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game while LeClaire is averaging 13.0 points.
- The Phoenix have just one loss since late November. That loss came at Northern Kentucky on December 30, immediately after they visited the Nutter Center.
- Green Bay is currently second in the mid-major poll, 13th in the NCAA RPI and 20th nationally in most polls.
- The Raiders will come home for four straight, starting with Detroit Mercy on Feb. 8 and Oakland on Feb. 10.
