@WSUVBall Takes Down Jaguars on the Road

The Wright State volleyball picked up an important win Friday night at IUPUI 3-1 by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-14 and 25-21.  The Raiders are now 10-9, 2-5 while the Jags go to 5-16, 2-5.

Mallory Ladd led the way with 17 kills with four blocks while Teddie Sauer ended with 11 kills, nine digs and nine blocks.  Lainey Stephenson had 34 assists with 17 digs and two service aces.  Wright State hit .188 overall with 47 kills.

First Set
WSU won the set 25-21 after jumping to a 6-3 lead.  IUPUI crept back to cut the lead to 10-9, but the Raiders pulled away.  Taylor Gibson had five kills while Ladd collected three.  Stephenson had eight assists.

Second Set
This set stayed close throughout with neither team ahead by more than two points and a final score of 25-23.  Ladd continued with the hot hand as she grabbed four more kills with Sauer and Alannah Lemming with three more each.  Stephenson added 10 assists.

Third Set
The Raiders took control after a 10-10 tie to win 25-14.  Ladd posted five more kills in eight attempts, and Sauer had four kills in eight attempts as both hit .500.  WSU hit .286 as a team.

Fourth Set
The fourth set was tight as the teams were tied at 17 until Wright State pulled away for a 25-21 win.  Ladd and Sauer each ended with five and four kills again as Sauer grabbed five blocks.

Next Up
The Raiders will host Northern Kentucky Sunday at 4 pm on ESPN+.  The Norse, 12-5 and 4-2, will play at IUPUI Saturday.
