#19 @WSU_Mens_Soccer Earns Strong Road Win Over Oakland Saturday

The 19th ranked Wright State men's soccer team hit the road Saturday afternoon, where they took on the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. The Raiders earned their 10th win of the season 2-0 with a strong offensive second half.  WSU is now 10-1-2, 4-0-1

First Half
The two teams appeared to be relatively evenly matched at the opening of the match, with the majority of chances for both teams coming from outside of the 18 yard box. Both goalies maintained their clean sheets in the first half, with Oakland keeper Sullivan Lauderdale making four saves in the first frame.

Second Half
Joel Sundell made several spectacular saves in the second frame, giving his offense the platform to take the front foot in the match. Alec Philippe took the cues from his keeper, and opened the scoring in the match just nine minutes into the second half off an assist from Stefan Rokvic to put the Raiders on top 1-0 in the 54th minute. Sundell continued to make quality plays coming off of his line to thwart the Golden Grizzlies attack attempts over the top of the defense. Linden Eberle drew a penalty kick in the 79th minute, and Jackson Dietrich fired the ball into the right side of the net to put the Raiders on top 2-0, where the score would remain until the final whistle.

Up Next
The Raiders will have a six-day break before their next match, when the IUPUI Jaguars come to Alumni Field Oct. 20 for a 7:00 pm match.
