The Wright State men's basketball team played a tough team at a tough venue at Kent State Saturday afternoon, falling in a back-and-forth game 83-76.  WSU is now 4-6 while the Golden Flash goes to 8-1, riding a six-game winning streak.

Four Raiders scored in double digits, led by Cole Gentry with 19 points.  Alan Vest, who got his first career start, posted his best game ever with 16 points while Loudon Love ended with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Mark Hughes had 12 points and six boards.  Bill Wampler pitched in nine points.  WSU shot 49% overall with 10 three pointers to 52.3% for KSU.  Kent won the boards 31-26 and bench points 35-6.

First Half
Kent State jumped to a 4-0 lead and continued to lead until a three pointer from Skyelar Potter tied it at eight.  With the score tied at 19, WSU went up 25-19 and 27-21 when KSU went on a 9-0 run for the advantage.  The hot hand of the Golden Flash stayed strong, leading 37-32 with under a minute to play.  Kent led 39-34 at the buzzer.  Gentry finished the first 20 with eight points while Love had seven points, four rebounds and three blocks.  Potter came off the bench for six points off two threes.  KSU outrebounded the Raiders 17-11.

Second Half
Though Kent moved to a 43-34 lead to start, the Raiders stormed back to lead 46-42 but the score was tied at 48 at the 12-minute timeout.  By the next media timeout at 7:28, WSU led 60-59.  Vest's 16th point of the game put WSU up 66-61, leading to a 71-69 score at 3:52.  With WSU up 74-73, Kent State hit two straight baskets for the 77-74 lead with 1:17 remaining.  The Flash went on to win 81-76 with a 10-2 run.  Gentry had 11 points in the final 20 minutes.

Nagy Said
"Our players learned life lessons this week, but we're not going to make excuses.  We had the lead in the second half often this year.  We will have to look at some possible changes."
