The Wright State baseball team picked up a mid-week, non-conference win over MAC first-place squad Kent State Tuesday afternoon 8-6 at Nischwitz Stadium.
The Flashes scored four runs in the second to take a 4-2 lead but the Raiders came back with one in the second, one in the third and four in the fifth as WSU hung on for the win. The top four Raiders hitters in the lineup accounted for nine of the 13 hits. Gabe Snyder continued his hot pace with three hits and three RBI as Peyton Burdick collected two hits, including a home run.Matt Morrow and JD Orr also had two hits while Chase Slone finished with two RBI.
Jason Foster got the start as Bear Bellomy picked up the win, allowing one earned run over four innings with three strikeouts. Jeremy Randolph three two effective innings while Derek Hendrixson came on for the save.
Wright State is now 29-13 while Kent drops to 28-13. The Raiders, currently in first place of the Horizon League with a 16-5 record, will host a three-game series with second place UIC this weekend.
