
Raiders trek to Miami for Saturday matchup

The Wright State men's basketball team hits the road for the first time on the young season for a Saturday afternoon matchup, making the short trip to take on Miami in a 2 p.m. tipoff inside Millett Hall on ESPN3.

The Raiders opened the season with a 96-77 victory over Central State on Tuesday night, as four players tallied double-digit scoring nights inside the Nutter Center.
Freshman Tanner Holden led the way for the Raiders with a 21-point night in his collegiate debut, shooting 10-for-16 from the floor with seven rebounds in a team-high 26 minutes of action.
WATCHIN' LOVE WORK
Junior center Loudon Love of the Wright State men's basketball team was named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List, announced on Nov. 6. The award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.
The 2019-20 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced in April 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia – site of the men's Division I NCAA Basketball Championship.
STARTING STRONG
After its season-opening victory over Central State, Wright State continues its success when opening the season in front of the home crowd. The Raiders improved to 10-1 in home openers inside the Nutter Center with Tuesday's win. The Raiders' lone loss in that stretch came in November 2017 against Murray State. Over the same time span, Wright State has a 6-4 record in season-opening games.
Since earning an 88-86 victory in the Nutter Center's first game against Tennessee State on December 1, 1990, Wright State holds a 24-5 record in home openers inside the Nutter Center.
PUTTING IN OVERTIME
Wright State and Miami have faced off against each other each season dating back to the 1999-2000 campaign, with the last two meetings going to overtime – and both games going to the RedHawks (73-67, Nov. 14, 2017 & 65-62, Dec. 5, 2018). Since the 1999-2000 season, Miami holds a slim advantage, having won 11 matchups compared to Wright State's nine victories. Overall, the series dates back to Dec. 15, 1971 in, with Wright State trailing 13-21 all-time series.
Before the last two seasons, the only other meeting in the series to go to overtime was during the 2004-05 season (a 59-54 Miami win on Dec. 18).
