The 2019 Wright State baseball campaign began on Friday in a tough matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels, the 10
th ranked team in the countries and winners of the 2018 SEC Tournament. Five of the Rebels' eleven hits were for extra bases, including two solo home runs. Wright State recorded seven hits in the game, but couldn't seem to push any baserunners across for runs, leaving seven runners on base.

1st Inning
The Raiders didn't record a hit in the opening frame, but did force Rebel starter Will Ethridge to throw 29 pitches. In the home half, Wright State senior pitcher
Bear Bellomy quickly recorded two outs, but then got touched up for an Ole Miss solo shot.

2nd Inning
Ole Miss repeated the outcome of the 1
st, scoring their second run on another solo home run with two outs in the inning.

5th Inning
The Rebels added another run in the 4
th and took advantage of errant pitches to score twice more. Bellomy (0-1) was relieved by Wirsing after navigating 4.2 innings, striking out two batters.

6th Inning
Giltrow singled to lead off the sixth, but the Rebels battled back to strikeout Orr and Burdick and got a flyout to end the inning and strand two runners. The Ole Miss bats came alive once again, scoring two more and extending their lead to 8-0.

8th Inning
Alex Alders came off the bench to pinch hit and promptly ripped a single into left field. Burdick doubled to left, scoring Alders and providing the Raiders with their lone run of the evening. Ole Miss added another pair of runs to close the scoring.
