@WSURaiderGang Topples Cedarville

Wright State (26-11) took care of business from Nischwitz Stadium on Thursday in an impromptu matchup against nearby Cedarville University.

Sam Wirsing started for the Raiders and pitched five innings to improve his record to a perfect 6-0 on the season. Cedarville outhit Wright State by two but walked 15 Raiders, who claimed an 11-0 victory before heading to Milwaukee for a weekend Horizon League series. In addition to the walks, the Yellow Jackets couldn't stop the Raiders on the base paths allowing 10 stolen bases.

Scoring Summary

1st Inning
Peyton Burdick reached base on a fielders choice and took second on a Cedarville error. Seth Gray recorded the first Wright State hit of afternoon with an RBI single towards the shortstop.

2nd Inning
 Tyler Black tallied the second run for the Raiders. Black drew a walk, stole both second and third, and came around to score after a dropped third strike.

3rd Inning
Like Tyler Black in the second, JD Orr drew a walk and stole a couple of bases. Burdick joined Orr on base after taking four straight balls and Seth Gray shot a double out to center to score both runners. Wright State held a 4-0 lead after three.

4th Inning
The Raiders kept the offense rolling and scored a run in their fourth straight inning to begin the game. Cameron Rountree continued the theme of a walk and a stolen base and came around to score on an RBI single from JD Orr.

6th Inning
Tyler Black and Quincy Hamilton each drew walks to begin the inning and Justin McConnell put down a perfect bunt and reached first to load the bases. A passed ball advanced all of the runners and scored the sixth Wright State run. JD Orr produced the seventh score on a sac fly to left.

7th Inning
A Tyler Black single was bookended by walks drawn by Seth Gray and Quincy Hamilton to load the bases for the second straight inning. Justin McConnell cranked a grand slam high over the left field wall to open up a huge lead for the Raiders.

After Riley Perlich covered the sixth inning on the mound, Henry Von Hollen, Tyler Luneke, and Evan Moores each tossed perfect innings to close out the shutout for the Raiders.

Wright State will jump back into Horizon League action with three games at Milwaukee Friday and Saturday.
