@WSURaiderGang Continues to Roll with Win Over NKU

The Wright State baseball team continued its three-game series against the Northern Kentucky Norse on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium. The Raiders took game two of the series in a marathon affair, winning the shootout by a final score of 16-7.  WSU is now 36-15, 18-8 while NKU drops to 13-36, 11-15.

On Senior Day, JD Orr picked up three hits, two RBI and two more stolen bases.  He now has 49 for the season and 104 career stolen bases, both WSU records.  Peyton Burdick and Seth Gray each ended with two hits, three RBI and two runs as Gray hit his team-high 11th homerun.  Bradley Brehmer started the game and pitched five innings with four earned runs and one strikeout, but no walks.

RAIDER SCORING
Bottom of First – After falling behind by two in the top of the first, the Raiders would get three RBI singles from Damon Dues, Seth Gray, and Tyler Black, and add two more runs on a balk and an RBI walk from Brandon Giltrow, putting Wright State up 5-2.

Bottom of Third – Peyton Burdick drove a 2-RBI single to left center field to answer two runs from NKU in the second and third, keeping a 7-4 advantage for the green and gold.

Bottom of Fourth – The Raiders would have their biggest inning of the game in the fourth, pushing across six runs in the inning taking advantage of several walks from the Northern Kentucky pitching staff, as well as JD Orr stealing home plate. Wright State established a seven-run advantage in the inning, leading 13-6.

Bottom of Fifth – JD Orr's sacrifice fly re-established a seven-run lead after surrendering a run in the top of the fifth.

Bottom of Sixth – Seth Gray hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth, capping the scoring for the day.

The Raiders and Norse will round out their three-game weekend series Sunday afternoon, as it will be the second annual Raider Day at Fifth Third Field.
