@WSURaiderGang Sweeps Norse with Win at Fifth Third Field Sunday

Orr Steals Number 50 and 51

The Wright State baseball team hosted Northern Kentucky for the second straight year at downtown's Fifth Third Field with the same result as the Raiders swept the Norse with a 9-1 win in front of 2,042 fans.  The Raiders outscored NKU 30-8 in the three-game series.  WSU is now 37-15, 19-8 while the Norse drop to 13-37, 11-16.

Tyler Black led the way again, picking up a career-high five RBI on three hits while Brandon Giltrow used a long homerun to left field to grab two RBI.  JD Orr had a single and a walk to steal second base twice and increase his national-leading total to 51 thefts.  Zach Weatherford also added a pair of steals while Peyton Burdick and Seth Gray used a double steal in the eighth to setup the final two runs of the game.

Zane Collins is now 8-3 on the season as he pitched six innings, striking out eight batters and giving up just two hits.  Collins has 52 strikeouts in 62.2 innings for the season.  Tristan Haught, Jake Schrand, Bradley Deboutte and Tyler Luneke finished the shutout.

"We got an outstanding start by Zane Collins and it was good to see him back in his groove," WSU head coach Alex Sogard said.  "Offensively, we put runs on the board early."
